☆ y2k creepy kawaii ☆

If youre aware of "cutecore", jojifuku, and the aesthetics and controversies surrounding them, you'll have a solid idea of what im talking about.

Outside of fashion and purely in the realm of edits and pinterest boards, i think "cutecore", "cutegore" and the like are a bit too soft and dont fully lean into the concept enough.

Jojifuku is definitely the foundation of this aesthetics fashion but with an added brutality in make up, props and surroundings.

I always associate this aesthetic with crunchy soundcloud lolicore. The combination of cute anime samples and brutal distorted kicks, chopped breaks and headroom-destroying screeches feels very fitting.

A thing I have to mention about this aesthetics origin (specifically jojifuku and my association with lolicore) is the fetishy age play aspect that permeates the online spaces surrounding it.

I definitely dont associate with DDLG or lolicon garbo. To me, these topics are completely divorced from this aesthetic.

Monster/alien, gene modified entity freak, sickly and ill and ripped apart creatures wearing frilly cute things.

I think the general y2k cut of the clothes, strawberries and stars as well as the pastel rainbow (mainly pink of course) aspects are the most important.

You could literally combine these things in any way you want, but I enjoy the medical silent hill creature route the most I think.

Its safe to say that the horror aspects I like draw inspiration from analogue horror and creepy pasta images from the early 2010s. I think thats what scared me the most growing up.

I envision these creatures living in moldy basements or creeping out from under your bed. Kind of like the monsters you see in the shadows when youre trying to fall asleep as a kid.

Since the whole point of this aesthetic is combining sweet and bitter stuff, gore, vomit, feces, anything is on the table. Drawing vomit makes me feel kinda sick but I like the end result a lot.
